It is with a feeling of immense joy that I bring you news of Agbowó’s acquisition of the Ìbàdàn-based art events initiative, ArtsNChill. This is part of a string of moves Agbowó is making to provide the ultimate art experience, be it in the stories and poetry that the e-zine provides or the book readings and art events that our new arm will now furnish. The acquisition will see members of ArtsNChill join the Agbowó team as the Events Department. Ezim Osai has been appointed as the director of this new department.
Over the last three years, ArtsNChill has continued to bolster its reputation as the leading Literary event/community in the University of Ibadan, organizing themed fortnightly meets to read poetry, read short stories and exhibit art whilst being treated to hearty jugs of palm-wine.
This acquisition does not signal the end of this tradition. The meets will continue under the name; “ArtsNChill by Agbowó”. The social media accounts of ArtsNChill also remain the same and will remain functional. The scope of operation of our new arm will, however, broaden to include a more diverse range of literary events and geographical spaces beyond the University of Ibadan.
